What You’ll Learn
Whether your student dreams of performing in the school band or playing in a group with friends, the Beginner Drum Program gives them the tools to succeed. Our curriculum focuses on both technical foundations and building the confidence needed to make music with others.
Core Skills Covered
Rudiments – The essential sticking patterns and exercises that form the building blocks of drumming. Students learn how to practice these effectively until they become second nature.
Reading – Step-by-step training in drum notation and rhythm reading, so students can understand written music and follow along in rehearsals or performances.
Technique – Developing control, speed, coordination, and finesse. Proper technique helps students play with ease and avoid bad habits.
Snare Drum – Mastering dynamics, rolls, accents, and precision on the core percussion instrument.
Drum Set – Applying skills to the full kit—playing grooves, fills, and songs across multiple musical styles.
Program Structure & Policies
Weekly Lessons: Students meet on a designated day and time each week for consistent progress.
School Calendar: Lessons follow the local school calendar, including closures and snow days.
Make-Up Lessons: Missed lessons can be made up during the same week (when possible) or at the end of the school year.
Tuition: Monthly tuition is due at the beginning of each month.
This structured approach ensures that every student not only learns the mechanics of drumming but also develops the confidence, creativity, and real-world experience to play music with others.
